1ST MEDICAL COMPANY WEEKEND PHYSICAL TRAINING AND WELLNESS PROGRAM

            Cadre:
            2LT William Reiner- Instructor
SGT Eric Rusca - Asst. Instructor
            PFC Mark Abrams - Trainer

            Goals:
Our goal is to prepare our soldiers for the physical demands of our missions. Our activities provide our soldiers with the tools to create a fitness routine of their own. Through our fitness program we strive for:
            • Better mission readiness
            • Incorporation of a fitness routine in our soldiers’ daily lives
            • Provide a fun environment to socialize with our fellow soldiers
            • Enhance our individual physical capabilities

            Ideals:
Fitness is not just a goal it is a necessity. A soldier who is prepared physically can better focus on the mission, with better stamina, and safety. During a real crisis, where we may be deployed, there can be many dangers and physical stamina should not be one. We strive to provide a professional service to the State of Georgia without becoming a liability. We believe fitness can improve the service we provide.

            Policies:
            1. Do not start a fitness routine until consulting your physician.
            2. Push yourself to do as much as you can without injury. Injuries can happen so if you feel discomfort, STOP. Pain is your body’s way of saying something is wrong. While soreness is common after a workout, this is different than the pain during a workout.
            3. Always have a workout buddy. This is a person around your fitness level, who can provide motivation, and most importantly response if an injury occurs.
            4. The coordinator has the authority to stop training and remove an individual if they deem it necessary.

            Safety Statement:

There are inherent risks of physical activity. It is your responsibility to know your limits. Most exercises can be modified to each individual’s need, but it is your responsibility to ask how. Individuals should also be aware of their surroundings. Exercises performed outside have added risks of weather, animals, and other natural threats. Dress appropriately for the weather and given activity, and always have enough water. We will look after one another, but you are responsible for yourself first and foremost.
