CBRN-e
The Georgia State Defense Force’s Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and explosives (CBRN-e) Decontamination Platoon was created to provide a professional response to a CBRN-e disaster. Soldiers in the CBRN-e Platoon train in decontamination techniques to turn victims into patients, making it safe for them to be transported to hospitals without spreading the contamination.
The platoon works and trains with members of the National Guard, Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, and health care facilities. As part of the Atlanta Metro Medical Strike Team, the platoon responds when local assets are overwhelmed by a disaster. The Georgia State Defense Force CBRN-E platoon is an independent operating unit as well as a force multiplier for municipal agencies and departments, their civilian counterparts, and the Georgia Department of Defense.
Citizens looking for a new challenge both mentally and physically should consider joining the CBRN-e Platoon. No previous experience is required, but is welcome. If interested email 2LT Bill Reiner wjreiner@gmail.com.
